Dialogues on Densification
Address
Höschgasse 3, Zurich CH–8008
Hours
Wed–Sun 2–6 pm

How can Zurich become more densely populated without losing its urban quality? And how can the public services that shape the city and make it livable be secured in the long term?

Dialogues on Densification examines scenarios that address these questions. The exhibition looks at the historical development of the city and shows how Zurich was able to develop on the basis of robust urban planning regulations and codes. At the same time, it asks to what extent these existing instruments need to be reevaluated today and seeks design approaches that can be used to control densification processes in a qualitative manner.

The exhibition is divided into thematic sections covering housing, public space and mobility, public buildings, commercial and work uses, and architectural heritage. Film, large-scale physical models, archive materials, drawings, photographs, and digital tours convey different perspectives on a denser and at the same time sustainable Zurich.

Opening: February 26, 2026, 7 p.m.
