Two Estonian construction-related associations – the Estonian Association of Construction Entrepreneurs and the Association of Construction Material Producers of Estonia – have joined forces to create an exhibition to celebrate Estonia’s 100th birthday and give an overview of our country’s road from birth to present. What has been constructed, why, of what and how – what has culture of construction been like.

A jury consisting of architects and construction specialists have chosen a building to represent each year. Museums, concert halls, residence buildings, bridges as well as technical buildings have been included in the selection. A variety of materials and locations are represented as well.

“Construction plays a key role in the development of countries and nations. It makes states stronger, richer and wiser,” says head of the Estonian Association of Construction Entrepreneurs Raivo Rand. “By keeping ourselves busy building top quality houses we have made it to the developed countries of the world.”

The exhibition and book „100 buildings – one hundred years. Estonian history in buildings. 1918-2017” are available in Estonian, English and Russian.
