Avant-garde monuments are to be!

Schusev State Museum of Architecture presents the exhibition project "Avant-garde monuments are to be". The purpose of the exhibition project, initiated by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, is to reveal and state the vector of government policy aimed at the preservation and study of the monuments of the Soviet avant-garde architecture in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other Russian cities. The exhibition shows the optimal solutions and variants of use which are possible in this sphere of monument protection. Five specific examples illustrate the vectors of work with constructivist buildings: the House of Konstantin Melnikov in Krivoarbatsky Lane in Moscow (1927-1929), the Maslennikov factory-kitchen in Samara (1932), Novo-Ryazanskaya Street Garage in Moscow (1929-1931), the Drama Theater in Rostov-on-Don (1930-1935), and the White Tower in Yekaterinburg (1928-1931).
