Kengo Kuma

The first exhibition by a prominent personality in contemporary Central European architecture is being organised in cooperation with Centre Pompidou, the CTU Faculty of Architecture and under the auspices of the Embassy of Japan in the Czech Republic. A total of 24 projects, including models, will be presented, e.g. Musée Hiroshige Ando (Japan), Great Bamboo Wall House (China), CG Prostho Museum Research Centre (Japan), Hotel et marché couvert (Japan), Wooden Bridge Museum (Japan), V & A (Ecosse).

Kengo Kuma is a globally recognised Japanese architect with offices in both Tokyo and Paris. His most famous works include the Yusuhara Wooden Bridge Museum, Water/Glass (AIA Benedictus Award), Stage in Forest, Asakusa, GC Prostho Museum Research Centre, Sunny Hills Japan, Ginzan 'Shirogane-yu' spa, Sake No Hana restaurant, Green Cast, as well as the Toyoma Centre for Performance Arts (Architectural Institute of Japan Annual Award). His current works include Kabukiza, Besancon Arts and Culture Centre and FRAC in Marseilles. In 2015, he was chosen to design the Olympic Stadium for the 2020 Olympic Games. Kuma is also the author of several publications, among which are Anti-Object and the recent Natural Architecture and Small Architecture, which have gained wide readership around the world.
