The architectural firm PRODUCTORA, based in Mexico City, will present 5 un-built projects that have a clear relation to geometry and mathematical proportions. Large-scale models, made in collaboration with students at Woodbury University, will be presented as autonomous volumes in space. These volumes can be disassembled by reassembled by visitors to create new configurations, generating an interactive exhibition in which the classical notion of play and composition with platonic volumes becomes the central idea.

PRODUCTORA is an architecture practice founded in 2006 in Mexico City that brings together architects from several countries: Abel Perles (1972, Argentina), Carlos Bedoya (1973, Mexico), Víctor Jaime (1978, Mexico) and Wonne Ickx (1974, Belgium). The work of PRODUCTORA is characterized for a precise attention to geometry, a profound aesthetic ambition and a concern with timelessness in its materialization and programmatic solutions.

PRODUCTORA is developing a variety of projects in Mexico and abroad (Asia, South America) ranging from single family dwellings to offices and public buildings. Partners have been teaching and lecturing at national and international events. PRODUCTORA was selected for the Young Architect’s Forum organized by the Architectural League in New York (2007) and presented their work on the 2nd architectural Biennale in Beijing (2006), as well as the Venice Biennale in Italy (2008). PRODUCTORA was one of the architecture studios chosen to build a villa for the Ordos100 Project in Inner Mongolia (China/2008) a construction project that has been curated by Herzog & De Meuron and Ai Weiwei. They won the International Competition for the CAF Headquarters in Caracas (Venezuela) in collaboration with Lucio Muniain (2008). They were asked to build an installation in the National Museum of Art in Beijing (China/2009) and were showcased at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London (2010). Recently, PRODUCTORA was selected as ‘emerging voice 2013’ by the Architectural League of New York. In 2011, PRODUCTORA founded LIGA, a platform for Latin-American architecture in Mexico City in collaboration with curator and art-critic Ruth Estevez.
