With the exhibition “Interplay – Planning and Building in Transition,” Maier Neuberger Architekten, on the occasion of their retrospective, examine the changing global context of their own work and its impact on locally realized and planned projects.

A selection of current buildings in southern Germany offers possible answers to how planning and building are changing in the context of ecological and geopolitical transformation.

What effects do new construction methods have on spaces, typologies, and facades?
How does a high degree of prefabrication shape architectural expression in the tension between repetition and individuality?
And what does the day-to-day work actually look like?

As a firm, Maier Neuberger Architekten has been developing its projects in an undogmatic manner for over 30 years, drawing from the specific sites and the dialogue surrounding them. For the exhibition “INTERPLAY – Planning and Building in Transition,” they pause briefly to look back and look ahead.
