Open up!
The Frankfurt skyline symbolizes progress and change. But what happens when high-rises lose their original function? The exhibition “Aufmachen! Rethinking High-Rises” highlights the potential of existing towers as sustainable resources, vibrant places, and open building blocks of the city of tomorrow.
Repositioning means more than just renovation. It preserves existing structures, enables new, multifunctional uses, enhances green spaces and climate resilience, and creates public functions that more closely connect high-rises with the urban landscape. Drawing on building typologies from Frankfurt and Offenbach, the exhibition inspires imaginative ideas for a more active, diverse, and sustainable urban landscape.
