This exhibition aims to express and share with Parisians a vision of the future of their city through concrete illustrations reflecting daily life in Paris in 2050, for a common storytelling of the transformation of the territory .

Since its origin, Paris has continued to reinvent itself in line with economic, societal and cultural changes. Its ability to face the challenges of the 21st century will depend greatly on our collective ability to imagine new solutions and ways of living.

The City of Paris launched a prospective approach in September 2022, in partnership with the CAUE of Paris. The four participatory and creative devices deployed resulted in the production of stories in multiple forms, through a student consultation open to future professionals in the living environment, writing workshops for residents, a call for artistic projects and educational workshops carried out in middle schools and elementary schools.

These stories were enriched by the productions of inmates of the Paris – La Santé penitentiary center, as part of creative workshops.

Models, drawings, texts, photographs, podcasts, videos, postcards and artistic installations offer a diversity of visions of everyday life in Paris in 2050, making it possible to spark a dialogue on the future of the territory, as part of the overhaul of the strategy of resilience of Paris.

Bold, abundant and stimulating, these visions are now brought together in an exhibition presented at the Pavillon de l’Arsenal. This collective narrative offers a glimpse of possible futures for Paris, by 2050.
