EXPO 2035 TXL

Transforming the Legacy of the Airport into a Vision for the Future
Address
Rainvilleterrasse 4, 22765 Hamburg
Hours
Mon-Fri 10 am – 4:30 pm

The participants explored the question: “How can major events become a visionary catalyst for urban development?” Using the potential EXPO 2035 on the site of the former Tegel Airport (TXL) in Berlin as a case study, they investigated how the construction measures of a World Expo could serve as a foundation for vibrant urban development.

In internationally composed groups, designs were conceived and developed. In addition to tutorials and interim presentations, the workshop was accompanied by a public lecture program.

The workshop was led by Dipl.-Ing. Architect Stephan Schütz and Dipl.-Ing. Architect Nicolas Pomränke.
