People in the city
For the project, members of both associations explored everyday urban life in Karlsruhe at the intersection of street and architectural photography. In contrast to typical architectural photography, the focus was not on the perfectly staged, aestheticized building, but rather on the city, or rather the built space, in its everyday appearance and in its interaction with the people who move within it. The key focus is on the connection to the people in the urban space. Each photographer views the city from their own unique perspective and invites others to follow this perspective and perceive the city with new eyes.
All photographs were taken in Karlsruhe in the past few months, thus creating immediate connections and points of contact for visitors, perhaps leading them to ask the question "Where is that?". The exhibition is part of ArchitekturZeit.
