To The Substance

From October 19 to November 9, 2025, the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation will be presenting the presentation "TO SUBSTANCE" at the Mies van der Rohe House. It will feature three-dimensional elements that express the natural resources behind the "materials of modernism" – concrete, steel, glass, brick, and aluminum. The resulting spatial collages can be rearranged time and again. The displays will travel to various Bauhaus locations over the course of the anniversary year. The Mies van der Rohe House will be the second stop and will become a central location for the Bauhaus anniversary in Berlin. A diverse lecture program will accompany the exhibition.

Artist talk: ARCHITECTURE AS STAGE

Oliver Klimpel (Bauhaus Dessau Foundation) will discuss the idea, concept of the installation, and its connection to the exhibition concepts of the Bauhaus and the work of Mies van der Rohe.

BAUHAUS ACTIVE Workshop

An interactive format for children, young people, and adults. This playful and experimental workshop invites visitors to discover the Bauhaus in their own way—and to engage in creative work themselves.
