We are delighted: The SAY traveling exhibition will be stopping by in the fall of 2026.

The Swiss Architecture Foundation (SAS) presents the second edition of the Swiss Architecture Yearbook. An independent selection committee chose 30 projects and four special mentions from among 158 nominations. The yearbook addresses key questions in contemporary architecture: What topics are relevant today? Which projects demonstrate exemplary solutions? And how is construction in Switzerland evolving? It brings the book’s content into the public discourse both domestically and internationally and stimulates debate about Switzerland’s built environment. The exhibition is part of the overarching project “SAY Swiss Architecture Yearbook.”
The project is sponsored by the Swiss Architecture Foundation (SAS).

The Best to Choose From – Exhibition on the Swiss Architecture Yearbook in Zurich

Swiss architecture enjoys a high international reputation. This makes it all the more remarkable that for a long time, it did not have its own yearbook. The Swiss Architecture Yearbook (SAY) 2025/26 is now the second edition to be published.
A broad network of nominators from all parts of the country was actively involved in this edition as well. Their suggestions for outstanding buildings formed the shortlist. From a total of 158 nominations, a committee selected 30 projects as well as four special mentions. These are presented in detail in the yearbook and in the exhibition.
The A2 panels featuring the nominated projects form the core of the exhibition and provide insight into the judging process. Visitors to the exhibition become part of a larger jury themselves: From all 158 projects, visitors can make a personal selection and compare it with the results from other locations. It will be exciting to see which projects the Zurich audience counts among their favorites.
On October 22, a lecture evening will take place to explore the topic in greater depth. Two major residential construction projects will be presented under the theme “Continuing to Build,” and current practices in French-speaking Switzerland will be compared with those in German-speaking Switzerland.

The Swiss Architecture Yearbook (SAY) was launched on the initiative of three Swiss architectural institutions: the Swiss Architecture Museum (S AM), the Swiss Architects’ Association (BSA), and the magazine *werk, bauen + wohnen*. To this end, the SAS Foundation was established as an independent, nonprofit organization to bring these institutions together.

Opening: September 9, 2026, 7 p.m.
Speakers: Marianne Burki, Ludovica Molo, Roland Züger
