More and more people are traveling more often, further, and for shorter periods of time. What impact do our vacation preferences have on the built environment, the social fabric, and climate change? And how can we imagine a form of tourism that does not destroy the very thing it depends on for its existence? Tourism has brought added value, prosperity, and cosmopolitanism even to the most remote areas, thereby preventing migration. On the other hand, there are negative effects such as crowds, gross environmental damage, and rising land prices. Tourist hotspots suffer from the rush of visitors, while other places are left behind.

The exhibition highlights key aspects of tourism, but above all it seeks potential for transformation. Numerous successful examples inspire a desire for a type of vacation that no longer follows exclusively the paradigm of consumption and growth.

Opening: March 3, 2026, 6 p.m.
