Architektur Filmtage Erfurt
“A BUILDING HAS AT LEAST TWO LIVES – THE ONE IMAGINED BY ITS MAKER AND THE LIFE IT LIVES AFTERWARD – AND THEY ARE NEVER THE SAME.” Rem Koolhaas
How do you approach architects and their work?
This is the question addressed by the first Erfurt Architecture Film Days. Over the course of two days, a total of six documentary films from Germany and abroad will be shown, which place extraordinary architectural personalities at the center of their narrative. Their stories and thus also the stories behind the architecture are told from highly diverse and surprising perspectives. We accompany them on a shared car ride, we look through the eyes of their son, we get to know them through drawings that come to life, we listen to the stories of their employees, we accompany an artist who makes the buildings themselves the subject of her own artistic work, and we discover an architect whose buildings we have long since recognized from one or another feature film.
The films are supplemented by introductions, discussions and debates.
