Bauhaus Erde and the Federal Foundation for the Construction Academy cordially invite you to a press tour and the opening of the exhibition "Treffpunkt Bauwende - Regeneratives Bauen" on June 16, 2025, on the grounds of the future Bauakademie in Berlin-Mitte.

Under the title "Treffpunkt Bauwende", a public space is being created on the grounds of the Bauakademie where innovative construction methods, circular material use, and digital processes can be experienced. Visitors can learn about sustainable building practices, discover experimental projects, and participate in a variety of events.

To kick things off, Treffpunkt Bauwende, in cooperation with Bauhaus Erde, is dedicated to regenerative construction. The built environment plays a significant role in the climate crisis. With its ReBuilt project, Bauhaus Erde demonstrates ways in which the use of natural and reused building materials can create houses, cities, and regions that actively store carbon—and thus contribute significantly to improving living conditions on our planet. ReBuilt pursues a systemic approach and connects different scales, from material extraction to the built structure.

In addition to large-format photographs by the artist and photographer Bas Princen, Bauhaus Erde presents four case studies by ReBuilt, as well as the three fields of action: clay, wood, and paludi. One highlight is the "Musterecke Natur" (Nature Sample Corner): analogous to the well-known Musterecke (Nature Sample Corner) of Schinkel's Bauakademie (Building Academy), a building fragment was constructed from renewable building materials from the capital region.

For the permanent design of Treffpunkt Bauwende (Building Transition Point), raumlaborberlin transformed brick, wood, and reinforced concrete from surrounding demolition projects into exhibition elements and seating. The resulting furniture vividly illustrates the potential of building preservation and the circular economy. Colored markings trace the origins of the materials and illustrate the conscious use of resources.

Opening: 16.6.2025, 6 pm
