Heinrich Kulka (1900–1971) Loos student and successor

Exhibition on Heinrich Kulka in Vienna

Heinrich (Jindřich) Kulka, born in Litovel (German: Littau, present-day Czech Republic) in Moravia, began his architecture studies at the Vienna University of Technology. At the same time, he attended Adolf Loos's private building school and, as Loos's partner from 1927/28, was significantly involved in almost all of Loos's designs. The upcoming exhibition will be devoted in detail to Heinrich Kulka's independent work before his emigration. Alongside several Viennese works from the period before 1938 (his first emigration to Hradec Králové / Königgrätz), the focus will be on his buildings in Bohemia, which are entirely committed to the concept of spatial planning. Kulka was able to realize these projects in his original homeland before his final emigration to New Zealand in 1940.

Opening: 07.07.2025, 6.30 pm
