NO TO DEMOLITION
As an ambassador of the HouseEurope! initiative in France, the Pavillon de l'Arsenal in front of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris is presenting a video installation that highlights the environmental, social, and health impacts of building demolition.
With Notre-Dame Cathedral set to reopen in December 2024 after its restoration, the question arises as to why some buildings are demolished and others renovated. The installation aims to educate the public on the importance of the themes promoted by HouseEurope!: promoting renovations with a lower carbon footprint than demolition, addressing the housing crisis, enabling building reversibility, and urban design that respects existing structures.
EUROPEAN CITIZENS' INITIATIVE HOUSEEUROPE!: 6 months left until renovations become the new norm in Europe!
