Jože Plečnik
Architect
Born in 1872 in Ljubljana, died in 1957 in the same city. The son of a carpenter, he trained at the Graz Trade School and studied architecture at Otto Wagner's master school.
He worked as an architect in Vienna, Prague, and Ljubljana. These cities continue to be shaped by his work to this day. His hometown of Ljubljana, in particular, has seen a massive improvement in quality of life thanks to Jože Plečnik's interventions. Under the title "People-Oriented Urban Design," this part of his work has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Images by David Schreyer offer a glimpse into situations conceived by Jože Plečnik.
Visits to the exhibition are by appointment only.
