Tafelzetting #10
In Table Setting #10, the Brussels office hé architecture presents their work. They demonstrate the ecological ambition in their residential architecture through four projects. To achieve this, they combine architectural photography with daring stackings of tables on the forecourt of DE SINGEL.
hé architecture is a Brussels architectural firm founded by Hanne Eckelmans and Renée Verhulst. Their residential architecture directly links the demands of their clients to a critical reading of existing buildings and a pronounced ecological ambition. From there, quirky combinations of familiar and innovative materials are created, with balanced proportions between space, light and color.
In their Table Setting, hé presents four of their projects in as many columns, constructed from the given tables. The stacking is partly based on recovered wood from the old stage floor of DE SINGEL. In the columns, the projects largely appear through the lens of architectural photographer Tim Van de Velde, with special attention to the characteristic materials, colors and residents of each house. In the meantime, hey's sustainable design methods are appearing, such as infilling and demountability.
