The construction and operation of buildings cause a large proportion of CO2 emissions and waste in Germany, and building materials contribute a significant part to this.

Materials made from renewable raw materials can mitigate this problem - and also have many ecological, biological and physical advantages over their "conventional" counterparts. In the area of new construction, the market already offers some solutions for an improved carbon footprint, but there are still many challenges to be overcome when dealing with existing buildings. This is the theme of the traveling exhibition "FAKTOR WOHNEN - Ecological re:building with renewable building materials". The heart of the exhibition is made up of 11 interactive display cases, where materials, construction principles and their effects can be easily understood and experienced sensually by measuring, feeling and trying.

"Faktor Wohnen" addresses, informs and inspires builders, planners and designers alike; the exhibition makes an important contribution on the way to a rapid construction turnaround.
