Material Show
Under the title "Material Show: Paths to a Construction Revolution", the ZfBK - Center for Building Culture Saxony, together with KREATIVES SACHSEN, shows the possibilities offered by new and traditional material manufacturing processes in the context of sustainable and future-oriented building development.
The Material Show focuses on materials that are made from available raw materials that would otherwise be considered waste. Visitors learn which products can be made from leftover wood production, former stage decorations, textile waste or birch tree bark. In the context of current construction price developments and the availability of resources, alternative processes and the reuse of components are a highly topical issue to which the exhibition is dedicated using individual examples.
The exhibition presents selected material innovations and the minds behind the projects and companies. Table tops and other hard shell material made from textile waste (Refalett), floor coverings made from birch bark (Nevi) or wooden shapes – for example for stage sets – made from 3D printers (Addwood and GreTa) can be explored on site and provide an opportunity to explore possible applications.
Vernissage: Mar. 20th, 2025, 6:30 p.m.
