Haarlem architecture drawn in clear lines
by Eric and Julia Coolen
In the hallway of the ABC you can feast your eyes on the work of illustrator Eric Coolen. The reason for this exhibition is the presentation of the coloring, game and activity book 'Architecture in Haarlem' that he created together with his daughter Julia Coolen (almost an architect).
Julia wrote the texts, Eric made the illustrations. Gabriël Verheggen of the ABC Architecture Center wrote the foreword. The book is packed with fun facts (for young and old) and beautiful coloring pictures, and assignments with the common thread: buildings from Haarlem. 82 pages full of Haarlem architecture and architects from the past and present. From the Quadrangle to the Grote or St. Bavo. From Lieven de Key to Heiko Hulsker.
