Florian Thomas
Florian Thomas works with photographic source material – contemporary images as well as historical photographs serve as the starting point for his paintings. His selection of motifs is intuitive, yet always situated within the tension between built space and human experience.
What makes a house livable? How much freedom does architecture allow? What happens when these spaces don't function – emotionally, socially, atmospherically? And how does a house change through time and use?
The depicted buildings come from different countries. For Thomas, they are exemplary of interpersonal relationships. His artistic exploration is less about architecture as an object and more about what it reveals about people's lives.
Opening: November 6, 2025, 6 p.m.
