Emotional Heritage

arc en rêve centre d’architecture

Hours
Tue+Thu–Sun 11 am–18, Wed 11 am–8 pm

“Emotional Heritage” presents, for the first time in France, the work of the architectural firm Flores & Prats. The exhibition explores how built places and spaces can be understood as repositories of memory and emotion.

This approach is part of an active strategy for transforming built heritage, based on a rejection of demolition and a recognition of the historical layers unique to each site. By highlighting the successive uses and narratives that have shaped these places, architecture becomes a factor of continuity, fostering the gradual emergence of new programs and modes of appropriation. Buildings and spaces are thus regarded as enduring agents of community life, contributing to the maintenance and renewal of social, cultural, and emotional relationships.

Conceived as an immersive installation, the exhibition showcases the working environment of the Flores & Prats studio through design drawings and models, used as tools for discussion with the project’s various stakeholders. Structured around four themes and six associated projects, the exhibition allows visitors to understand the methodological principles that shape the firm’s practice and highlights the potential of reusing existing buildings as a catalyst for sustainable and meaningful contemporary architecture.

Opening: June 4, 2026, 7:00 p.m.
