100 progetti in 100 anni di architettura del paesaggio in Svizzera
In 2025, the Swiss Federation of Landscape Architects (FSAP) celebrates its 100th anniversary. In this century, the professional profile has evolved from the creation of gardens to the development of solutions for complex issues related to open spaces.
The FSAP (Swiss Federation of Landscape Architects) has existed for 100 years. On May 17, a regional group from Ticino is established: on this occasion, the relationship between landscape architecture and architecture will be explored with a round table. In addition, the FSAP presents an exhibition of 100 Swiss projects from 100 years in the Limonaia. What began in 1925 as an exclusive circle of garden designers has become a discipline of the future.
At the center is the question of the open space of the future, a topic also addressed in (landscape) architecture competitions. What should be considered in the brief? Who is involved in the planning of a project and how? Ultimately, it is about addressing the major challenges of the future – densification, biodiversity crisis, flood protection, sustainable construction – and bringing them together in coherent, high-quality projects.
The starting point is the transformation of landscape architecture and its field of activity in recent years, which is discussed in the anniversary issue of Anthos, the Swiss Yearbook of Landscape Architecture.
The event in Lugano is the beginning of a series of events entitled “Anthos on tour”, organized by FSAP and Hochparterre. Over the course of a year, we will discuss landscape architecture and architecture on site, between and with disciplines.
