New works by Gereon Krebber
For buildings there is one constant danger: they can burn down. Fire is the enemy of architecture. For architects this can be both a blessing and a curse; after all, following a fire something new must be built. Gereon Krebber sets fire to his sculptures. His burned huts, shown in 2010 in the Kunstmuseum Bonn, are followed by burned towers. Whereas generally following a real fire all that is left is rubble and ashes, Krebber’s dark totems stand upright.
