How Circular is your Lifestyle?
How do we use resources—today and in the future? The exhibition “How circular is your lifestyle?” invites interested visitors, especially school classes and building contractors, to take a clear and practical look at their own lifestyles and building habits. The exhibition provides an accessible introduction to the complex topic of circular construction.
The focus is on the principle of circularity: instead of consuming and disposing of resources in a linear fashion, they are used for as long as possible, reused, and kept in circulation. This way of thinking offers great potential, especially in the construction industry—ecologically, economically, and culturally. Circular construction does not mean sacrifice, but rather creates long-term value and a livable future for coming generations.
The exhibition conveys the content in a playful, vivid, and interactive way. Alongside central questions on land use, choice of materials, regionality, efficiency, adaptability, and dismantlability, visitors are encouraged to reflect on their own decisions and better understand the interrelationships. The exhibition deliberately uses accessible, playful explanations and makes it clear that there is no one right way. Circularity arises through discussion, learning, and exchange between all parties involved—from planning and construction to later use.
With this exhibition, ZirkuLIE – Center for Circular Construction is making a concrete contribution to the current discussion on resource scarcity, building culture, and sustainable development, demonstrating how circular thinking can be made tangible and communicated in everyday life and in construction – especially to young people and decision-makers in the construction process.
